Originally hailing from Minneapolis, Tim Knight set his sights for California at the age of 13.  Upon graduating from the University of Wisconsin, minoring in jazz studies, he moved to Yorba Linda at 22 to pursue a career in teaching.  Working full time as a teacher and history professor, he has continued to pursue his passion for music ever since - playing synthesizers in two successful cover bands all across Southern California for 10 years while cultivating a part time career in music production in 2020 as part of Recursive Resonance, a retro electronic duo appealing to the 90s video game music aesthetic.  

In 2022, he began his individual act KATANAS - drawing upon a unique variety of 70s and 80s disco/funk, theatrical compositions of Hans Zimmer, and more modern electronic influences from France, Germany, and Australia.

With an interest in scoring, he has done music for film and content creation on social media. Working closely with other artists and studying their craft, he has successfully carved an original and unique blend of musical tastes in the creation of a new, yet familiar sound that appeals to a wide array of tastes.
